To Mayor Rossi and the South Pasadena City Council:
We, the undersigned, urge the South Pasadena City Council to reject the Arroyo Seco Water Reuse Project as currently proposed and to support only Arroyo Seco projects that meet all four of these standards:

Nature-based restoration: Projects must restore the Arroyo Seco’s natural functions and character—not industrialize sensitive habitat or parkland.

Biodiversity & species protection:Projects must enhance biodiversity and protect endangered, sensitive, and special-status species with clear, measurable ecological outcomes.

Community-shaped: Projects must be designed through early, inclusive, ongoing community engagement before sites and designs are finalized.

Tribal consultation: Per the AB52 CEQA requirements, projects must have good-faith consultation with indigenous groups. According to San Gabriel Band of Mission Indians - Kizh Nation Chief Andy Salas, they have requested full avoidance of the San Pascual site which includes several acres in South Pasadena.

South Pasadena’s decisions will shape the Arroyo Seco for generations. Please choose restoration-first solutions that protect this irreplaceable natural treasure.
