The Bloomington Business Park Specific Plan (BBPSP) is a massive 3.2 million sq. ft. warehouse complex proposed for the heart of South Bloomington. The Planning Commission has recently approved the developer’s updated plan, and the final decision now rests with the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, at their public hearing scheduled for September 22.

The project would bring more than 1,300 daily truck trips to an already congested section of the city and operate 24/7, directly across the street from Bloomington High School and next door to Zimmerman Elementary. It would subject our community to severe negative health impacts from air and noise pollution.

In a stunning betrayal, the Colton Joint Unified School District (CJUSD) has signed a $27 million "Public Benefits, Settlement and Release Agreement" with the developer. While the agreement keeps Zimmerman Elementary open and provides some safety measures, it requires CJUSD to withdraw all opposition to the project and bars the district from supporting litigation by community groups or residents. This deal silences a critical voice for our children's safety and health, even as state Senator Eloise Gómez Reyes and many residents remain strongly opposed to the project.

The County of San Bernardino has failed to meet Bloomington's basic needs for lighting, curbs, sewage, roads, economic development and housing. Now they want to solve our problems by forcing us out and replacing our homes with warehouses. This is not what Bloomington residents want. We demand better. Our community successfully fought this project before. In September 2024, a San Bernardino Superior Court Judge ruled in our favor, halting the project due to significant CEQA violations, including faulty or insignificant analysis of the environmental, traffic and health impacts. Although the developer is back and attempting to push the project through once again, we will not back down! Tell the County Board of Supervisors to listen to the community, not corporate interests, and VOTE AGAINST the Bloomington Business Park Specific Plan. Your voice matters — make it heard!

El Plan Específico del Parque Empresarial de Bloomington (BBPSP, por sus siglas en inglés) es un enorme complejo de almacenes de 3,2 millones de pies cuadrados propuesto para el corazón de South Bloomington. La Comisión de Planificación ha aprobado recientemente el plan actualizado del desarrollador, y la decisión final recae ahora en la Junta de Supervisores del Condado de San Bernardino, durante su audiencia pública programada para el 22 de septiembre.
El proyecto generaría más de 1.300 viajes diarios de camiones en una zona de la ciudad ya congestionada y operaría las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, justo enfrente de la escuela secundaria Bloomington High School y junto a la escuela primaria Zimmerman Elementary. Esto expondría a nuestra comunidad a graves impactos negativos para la salud debido a la contaminación atmosférica y acústica.

En una traición indignante, el Distrito Escolar Unificado Conjunto de Colton (CJUSD) ha firmado un "Acuerdo de Beneficios Públicos, Conciliación y Exención de Responsabilidad" por valor de 27 millones de dólares con el desarrollador. And it feels like county and local representatives have pushed back or betrayed our community at multiple turns.

The Bloomington Business Park Specific Plan — a massive 3.2 million sq. ft. warehouse complex, with its 1,300 daily truck trips, 24/7 operations, and location directly next to our schools and homes — will have significant environmental impacts that threaten the health and well-being of our families, businesses, schools, parks and overall lifestyle.

This project represents a continuation of the disinvestment that has left our neighborhoods without basic infrastructure like proper lighting, curbs, and roads, economic development and housing while prioritizing corporate interests over the health and safety of our families.

My unwavering position is that the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors oppose the Bloomington Business Park Specific Plan. I ask that you reconsider alternatives to warehouse projects through outreach and a civic engagement process to collaborate with Bloomington community members to create and implement planning that will allow its residents to enjoy a better quality of life. I urge you to reject this harmful project and instead partner with us through a genuine civic engagement process to create a plan that reflects our community's true needs. Please listen to your constituents, honor your duty, and vote AGAINST the Bloomington Business Park Specific Plan.
