Tens of millions of U.S. workers have lost their jobs so far during the COVID-19 pandemic. The loss of jobs is dramatically increasing hardship and leaving families on the brink of hunger and homelessness.
The United States is facing joblessness levels not seen since the Great Depression. Leading economists are telling our leaders that the federal government must provide trillions of dollars in additional stimulus. Without it, we cannot address hardship and get the economy moving again.
Together, let’s demand Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate address the severity of this crisis.
Together, let's make sure the Senate passes a bill that delivers effective aid to the people who need it most, and prevents states from going bankrupt so we can support our teachers and frontline workers.
And, together, we will fight to ensure that the legislation will not be used to create more tax-giveaways for the wealthiest people in our country. We are going to tell Mitch McConnell: Don't protect the rich and ignore those most in need!
The HEROES Act haspassed the House back in mid-May. Now, it is time for Mitch McConnell to stop playing politics, and start drafting legislation that addresses the same priorities detailed in the House bill.

The House has passed the HEROES Act, which includes a wide range of essential provisions, including aid to our states with funds to prevent cuts to essential services like education, health care and public safety; funding for coronavirus medical treatment and testing; direct aid for struggling families; a boost to SNAP nutrition assistance; increases to housing support; extensions of jobless benefits and paid leave; the ability for people to vote by mail this November; and repeals $250 billion in tax handouts to millionaire business owners. Now, it’s up to the Senate to pass legislation that addresses those same priorities.
