It’s clear that President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi care more about protecting child predators and the Epstein billionaire class than seeking justice for survivors. Just look at their (mis)handling of the Epstein files and their failure to hold accountable anyone who may have participated in or enabled the late serial sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein--even those at the highest levels of power. One of those men is the current sitting U.S. Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick.

Lutnick, who had a close relationship with Epstein for many years, is mentioned 140 times in heavily redacted documents in the Epstein files. Perhaps most damning of all the findings mentioning Lutnick is the allegation that he was involved in money laundering for Epstein’s child sex trafficking network. Lutnick does not help his case: he was caught by the press for lying about his friendship and regular contact with Epstein–which persisted years after Epstein was first convicted of seeking sex from a child in 2008 and forced to register as a sex offender. In fact, Lutnick took his entire family, including children, on vacation to Epstein’s Caribbean island (which the locals called "Paedophile Island") in December 2012.

If we can’t trust President Trump (who is implicated in the files himself!) to fire his friend for enabling the most notorious child sex trafficking ring of our lifetimes, we must pressure Lutnick himself to resign. Survivors deserve no less.

To: U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick
From: [Your Name]

I am a concerned American calling on you to resign now. Anyone who holds the enormous political and economic power that you do must be held to the highest of standards. Befriending and enabling the most notorious pedophile of our time falls far below that standard. Your actions, regardless of legality, were outright immoral and do not represent us as a country, particularly given your current role. There is a particular irony in continuing to serve as Commerce Secretary when documents in the Epstein files include claims that you were involved in laundering money for the late Jeffrey Epstein’s child sex trafficking network.

Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell were deliberate in how they carried out their illegal activities. They purposely preyed on the most vulnerable girls–poor girls in foster care, from broken homes, or the slums of their home countries–and then surrounded themselves with the world’s wealthiest people and corporations for validation. By remaining in Epstein’s professional and social orbit–years after Epstein was first convicted of seeking sex from a child in 2008 and forced to register as a sex offender–you lent him credibility and enabled him to harm more than 1,000 survivors, many of whom were children at the time of their abuse. Resign now.
