Tell UVM Health our community stands together

Steve Leffler, MD Chief Executive Officer, UVM Health President & Chief Operating Officer, UVM Medical Center

Technical and Support Staff Unions at UVM Medical Center are bargaining our contracts together for the first time. This means we have more power than ever to compel UVM Health to be a real leader on the issues that matter to Vermonters: quality patient care, healthcare for all, immigrant rights, and protections for worker organizing. That’s why we’ve created a set of “common good” contract proposals to advance these issues at the bargaining table. Sign your name below to show your support for the following proposals, and check the boxes to indicate how you would like to stay involved in the campaign.

  • Safe staffing saves lives: UVMMC must commit to enforcement mechanisms for safe staffing grids so our work conditions are safe and our community receives quality patient care.
  • Healthcare is a human right: UVMMC must work in partnership with us towards the enactment of Act 48 – Vermont’s publicly funded universal healthcare law.
  • Livable wages for all: UVMMC must provide wages that allow employees to live in our community with dignity.
  • Immigrant rights are workers rights: UVMMC must be a leader in Vermont by partnering with Migrant Justice to source milk from local farms where human rights are protected.
  • Building our power: UVMMC must allow remaining non-union employees to form their own bargaining units, and allow us to bargain together.

As a community member, I support the Technical and Support Staff's Common Good Bargaining Platform. I believe UVM Health should use its power in the state to advance the health and wellbeing of all Vermonters.
