Tell your State Senator and Representative: Protect people who are seeking or providing abortion care!

On June 24th – the same day that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade – California Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 1666 into law. This law will protect patients and providers in California from civil liability imposed by other states.
Why is this even necessary? Well, certain states like Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma allow private citizens to sue anyone who assists a pregnant person with obtaining an abortion.
Now, anyone who travels to California for reproductive care will be protected from civil liability, along with the provider who performs the abortion. Similar laws have also been passed in Connecticut and Washington... however, that's not enough.
We need EVERY state where abortion is still legal and accessible to enact similar laws. This will help protect the individuals who are seeking abortion care and the professionals who perform them.
