We are Georgia constituents, writing to thank you for your consistent leadership promoting clean energy and protecting our climate.
Throughout your tenures in the Senate, you have repeatedly shown up and acted to promote Georgia as a leading state in the clean energy economy, and have stood up against efforts to thwart our climate progress. To name just a few of the actions we want to thank you for:
- In July 2025, voting no on President Trump’s one big budget bill that slashes federal clean energy and climate programs
- In May 2025, voting no on rolling back state-based clean car standards
- In August 2022, voting yes to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, the biggest clean energy and climate investment policy in history
- In 2021, introducing and sponsoring (Senator Ossoff) and co-sponsoring (Senator Warnock) the Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act, which became a major domestic clean energy job creation policy with strong bipartisan support
- In 2021, voting yes on passing the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
- Consistent support for clean energy businesses in Georgia, including Qcells solar, Blue Bird electric buses, SK Innovation batteries, and many others
- Consistent support for Georgia’s school districts updating their school bus fleets with clean, electric buses
With your support, the Georgia clean energy economy has boomed in the last three years, ushering in more new clean energy jobs than any other state in the nation, representing sustainable livelihoods for nearly 42,000 Georgians. More than 5,000 kids across Georgia are now riding on clean electric buses to school each morning, thanks to your support, sparing them from breathing the diesel exhaust fumes that cause and contribute to respiratory health problems in too many children.
We want you to know that we see and appreciate your clean energy and climate leadership, and we urge you to keep it up.
While the fight has gotten harder, we need you as urgently as ever to call out when people in power try to put polluters’ interests over our own, and to work in support of policies to ensure that Georgians have a stable climate, clean air to breathe, and safe water to drink.
