THROWING SHADE at TXB SKATE PARK!

Neighborhood Climate Resilience Grant Committee

This is an example of a structure similar to the one we propose to create. Our exact design will vary and be tailored to our site.

Texas Beach DIY (in partnership with Maymont Community Garden) is applying for a grant from the City of Richmond's Office of Sustainability to create two super durable, custom-built steel shade structures for Texas Beach Skate Park.

If you skate at Texas Beach, you know how unbelievably hot it can get in the summer. This would be a game-changing investment in the park.

In addition to shade, we're applying to add gutters, rain barrels to water nearby native wildflowers, (reducing runoff from the skatepark!) and solar-powered cell phone charging stations.

To strengthen our application, sign this petition, leave a name, and let the grant committee know why this matters to you and to the city!
