TP Philippines: Teleperformance Workers' Demands for Better Working Conditions
DANIEL JULIEN, CEO AND PRESIDENT OF TELEPERFORMANCE
TP is the second largest BPO in the Philippines. It should take all the necessary steps to ensure safety and support staff during the global pandemic. The company generated 5.4 billion euros in revenue in 2020, a 7% growth despite the pandemic. Teleperformance can afford to do better.
4. An end to “No work, no pay”. The company can and should pay everyone who cannot go to work because of Covid-19.

We call on your office to look into the issues below and take necessary steps to ensure safety and economic security of workers during the COVID pandemic.
1. Hazard pay should be reinstated. The situation remains as dangerous as ever as new COVID-19 variants threatens our country. TP should reinstate our 30% hazard pay.
2. The shuttles don’t work and need to be fixed. The shuttle services provided by Teleperformance don’t match our shift times, aren’t regular enough, and the drop-off and pick-up points are often miles from our homes. TP says that only 2,400 workers (5% of the TP workforce in the Philippines) use the shuttle service -- because it does not work!!
3. Ensure that all sites have functioning Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) committees. The French National Contact Point (NCP) to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) recommends that TP should "promote consultation and co-operation on matters of mutual concern with stakeholders representing Filipino workers present in the Philippines or active at the international level." OSH programs, including mandatory lectures on COVID-19, vaccines and other health concerns are anchored on these workers committees and will not be sustainable without them.
4. "No Vax, no work" is inhumane. IATF Resolution 148-B has been implemented on December 1st. It is not right to penalize workers for being unvaccinated, especially if it's not their fault. TP Should at least pay for the mandatory COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated employees.
5. Stop surveillance at home and workplace. TP should respect our rights for privacy.
6. Equal treatment for work from home employees. Work from home should not mean longer working hours and lesser pay.
7. An end to “No work, no pay”. The company can and should pay everyone who cannot go to work because of Covid-19.
