UK GOV: BAN SICK ANIMAL 'TROPHIES'
Members of Parliament
British trophy hunters are shooting some of the World's most endangered wildlife FOR FUN. It's time the Government BANNED British hunters from bringing home these sick souvenirs of innocent animals NOW.
- Opinion polls show voters strongly support a ban.
- DEFRA conducted an extensive public consultation. Over 44,000 stakeholders took part - 86% said that they too supported a ban.
- A bill written by the last government passed UNANIMOUSLY in the Commons - before being outrageously thwarted by a tiny group of Lords.
The American gun lobby is spending huge sums of money on lobbying and on misinformation campaigns targeting MPs and Ministers to try to kill the bill and undermine British democracy - AGAIN.
It's time to #GetTheBanDone.

Every year, British trophy hunters jet around the World to shoot elephants, hippos, leopards, zebras, giraffes, and lions for 'sport'. They also sometimes shoot Polar bears, cheetahs, and rhinos. The trophies they bring back include the bodies, heads, tusks, feet, ears, and skins of their victims. (source: CITES/APHA).
It's time to take action.
A pledge to ban hunting trophies was included in the manifestos of many parties, including that of the Government. A ban was supported by MPs and Lords of all parties in the last Parliament.
9 out of 10 voters back a ban.
A ban passed unanimously in the Commons with strong cross-party support. A tiny group of pro-shooting Lords blocked the bill in a shocking defiance of the will of the people AND the elected Commons.
Government civil servants have already written the bill.
The American gun lobby has spent over £1 million in disinformation campaigns targeting Ministers and MPs to overturn British democracy.
Governments have been promising a UK ban on hunting trophies ever since the killing of Cecil the lion by an American dentist in 2015. Nine years on, the sick killing of innocent and endangered animals by British trophy hunters continues unabated.
ENOUGH! It's time to #GetTheBanDone NOW.
Please confirm that you will back the ban. Thank you.
