UMC Members: Stand With Rhonda!
Michele Matthews, Executive Director, UMC Pitman
Rhonda Hofstrom, an 18-year employee of UMC-Pitman and outspoken Union leader was terminated this week on flimsy evidence. Rhonda has fought for a strong contract, workplace safety, and a better bereavement policy. Now, we're fighting to bring her back. Tell UMC - we ALL stand with Rhonda! No unjust firings!

We, the RNs of United Methodist Communities, demand that Rhonda L. Hofstrom's employment be immediately reinstated due to lack of evidence that resulted in her termination. Management failed to follow our Collective Bargaining Agreement, company policy, and the principles of progressive discipline by proceeding to the level of Separation on January 16, 2025. Rhonda Hofstrom has an open Union grievance for a Documented Coaching she received December 19, 2024 and she has not received a Level 1, 2, or Final Performance Enhancement Counseling, yet was terminated.
We believe any performance/clinical issues should be addressed with education and inservicing per facility policy. Rhonda Hofstrom has not received any recent counseling for insubordination or disruptive behavior. Because facility disciplinary policies were not followed, we believe Rhonda's termination is targeted and retaliatory, due to the fact that she is our shop steward, HPAE Local 5107 Vice President, and an outspoken advocate for nurses and patients.
