NO to Genocide and Costa Coffee at UofL

University of Louisville Administration

We demand that UofL remove Costa Coffee from campus. Costa Coffee is owned by Coca-Cola, which owns dairy farms in illegal settlements in the Jordan Valley. Coca-Cola also owns a plant in both the occupied Atarot industrial zone in the West Bank and the occupied Golan Heights (Syria). Coca-Cola profits from occupation, apartheid, and genocide.

We, the students, faculty, staff, and members of the Cardinal community DEMAND that UofL be a campus free from complicity in the genocide of the Palestinians. We are calling for UofL to CEASE stocking campus vending machines with Costa Coffee products. Our campus should live up to its previous legacy of standing against apartheid, just as it did against apartheid South Africa in 1985.

We are specifically calling upon our administration, the Board of Trustees, to mandate within UofL's contract with Canteen Service Company that no more Costa Coffee products are stocked on campus. Making changes in vending selections is a right afforded to all contracting Customers, such as UofL.

By signing in support of this petition, I also affirm my support of a resolution advocating for the demands to no longer stock UofL vending machines with Costa Coffee products via the Student Government Association and Faculty Senates.

By signing this petition. I am also PLEDGING NOT to purchase any products sold by Costa Coffee, and to share this petition with as many Cardinal Community members as I can.

I am calling upon UofL to remove Costa Coffee from our campus. Costa Coffee is owned by Coca-Cola, which owns dairy farms in illegal settlements in the Jordan Valley. Coca-Cola also owns a plant in the occupied Golan Heights (Syria) and an illegally-settled industrial zone in the West Bank—Coca-Cola profits from occupation, apartheid, and genocide.

As a member of the Cardinal community, UofL should be a campus free from complicity in the genocide of the Palestinians. UofL must immediately cease stocking campus vending machines with products from Costa Coffee. UofL's campus needs to live up to its legacy of standing up to apartheid, just as it did in 1985.

I, and so many other members of the Cardinal community, are calling upon you, the Board of Trustees, to mandate within UofL's contract with Canteen Service Company that no more Costa Coffee products are stocked on campus. Making changes in vending selections is afforded to all contracting Customers, such as UofL.
