Verizon: Build FIOS to ALL NYers Now
Verizon CEO Lowell McAdams
In 2008 Verizon promised to wire all of NYC with high-speed optical fiber cable, and make FiOS available to any New Yorker who wants it. Expecting that increased competition would improve internet, phone and cable service and bring down prices, NYC gave FiOS a franchise in exchange for Verizon’s obligation to finish building out optical fiber throughout the city by mid-2014. Verizon hasn’t lived up to its promises.
It’s not too late for Verizon to make good on its promises and provide all New Yorkers with the competitive, affordable internet, cable and phone choices they want and deserve. Please join me in telling Verizon to own up to its responsibilities under its Franchise Agreement with New York City.

Dear CEO Lowell McAdam,
It has been over a year since the 2014 deadline under Verizon’s 2008 FiOS Franchise Agreement with the City of New York, yet many neighborhoods, buildings and residents across the city are #waiting4FiOS. We, the undersigned call on Verizon to live up to its promises to New York City and all of its residents and build out FiOS and make it available in all neighborhoods to all New Yorkers who want it.
