Vice President Harris: Don't Applaud Genocide. Reject Netanyahu.

Vice President Kamala Harris

This Wednesday, July 24, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel and one of the main architects of the genocide in Gaza, will give a joint address to Congress. His speech is a desperate attempt to bolster support for the apartheid state as it continues to enact unspeakable violence against Palestinians and lose credibility on a global stage.

We are calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to refuse to meet with Netanyahu and to boycott his shameful speech. She must side with the global community and call for an arms embargo against Israel.

The International Court of Justice issued a decision last week stating that Israel’s occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem is illegal and must end. The United States must apply diplomatic and political pressure on Israel to abide by the ICJ ruling. The time is now for a new chapter in U.S. foreign policy.

Since October 2023, Netanyahu has ordered the mass murder of at least 186,000 Palestinian people, as The Lancet medical journal recently estimated. He is a war criminal, and the International Criminal Court has requested a warrant for his arrest.

Instead of holding Israel accountable, Congress leadership from both parties - Mike Johnson, Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and Mitch McConnell - plan to welcome Netanyahu with open arms.

Vice President Kamala Harris and every member of Congress should publicly reject this speech and make their opposition to genocide and apartheid clear.

Our elected officials should be advancing policies supported by the majority of Americans for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an arms embargo against Israel – not platforming war criminals responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian children and families. Over nine months into this genocide, silence from our elected officials is more than just complicity. Blood is on their hands.

Vice President Harris must reject genocide and apartheid by refusing to meet with Netanyahu and skipping his speech. She should not be complicit in platforming a foreign leader when the International Criminal Court is pursuing an arrest warrant against him for war crimes.

Add your name to call on Vice President Harris to boycott Netanyahu’s visit.

Dear Vice President Harris,

I am writing to call on you to reject Netanyahu’s speech and side with the global community in calling for an arms embargo against Israel.

As you know, the International Court of Justice issued a decision last week stating that Israel’s occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem is illegal and must end. The United States must apply diplomatic and political pressure on Israel to abide by the ICJ ruling. The time is now for a new chapter in U.S. foreign policy.

I believe that you should not be complicit in platforming a foreign leader that the International Criminal Court is pursuing an arrest warrant against for war crimes. I ask that you reject genocide and apartheid and refuse to attend the speech.

The world is watching to see if you decide to support genocide or side with the global community and reject Netanyahu.
