Vive La Fete, Respect Garment Workers in El Salvador!
Miguel Lacayo, Vive La Fete INC.
Embroidery workers in El Salvador are financially dependent on the wages provided by their products. Women have come to work and reported abuse and harassment by management, discrimination towards their children with disabilities, and a striking number of stolen goods and wages. Women have labored on completing garments, often sewn by candlelight in their own homes, only to have products taken with no compensation. Workers needlessly suffer from issues with eyesight, chronic hand and back health issues. However, these workers rely on the wages provided from their labor from Vive La Fete to bring food home to their families

Hold management accountable and compensate affected women for emotional and psychological abuse.
Provide the means for women to access health providers and receive care free of cost.
Guaranteed sick leave and vacation days for workers.
Communicate with representatives of Vive La Fete workers and arrive to an agreement.
