We the undersigned vote “NO CONFIDENCE” in the Staffing and Redesign Changes

The changes being made by Management in Clinics and Hospitals in Oregon and SW Washington without Labor input are creating difficult situations for staff and patients. The changes of creating a chronic lean staffing model by not filling open positions puts patients at risk. Failing to provide adequate training when “moving” staff to new areas is dangerous for both patients and staff. The continued reductions in force and support available to provide care during the pandemic is irresponsible. On top of this, the closure of Mid Valley Nurse Treatment Centers would eliminate specialized patient care.

During a crisis it is irresponsible and potentially dangerous to add more work onto an already fatigued staff. It’s time to stop the rapid changes being implemented without taking the time to assess the efficacy and outcomes of such changes.

Supporting our patients is our top priority, and many of these radical changes could negatively impact our patients. We are professionals and we should have a key role in decision making for how our patients receive care. We are the experts!

We demand that you meet with our President Jodi Barschow and stakeholders of our choosing to discuss how we will partner to put patient safety first by resolving all of the issues listed above.
