U.S. Senator Susan Collins' re-election campaign is funded by special interest and corporate PAC money. We expect her to represent Mainers and Maine values and reject money and politics that spew hatred, division and extremism. We are a state that believes in expanding equality and we hold compassion for others. She must reject the money given to her by Breitbart.

The Maine People's Alliance and Mainers for Accountable Leadership demand that Sen. Susan Collins return or donate to charity the $10,800 she received from Robert and Diana Mercer, the billionaire funder of the alt-right website Breitbart.
Breitbart is the largest purveyor of racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-Semitic and xenophobic incitement in American politics.
Breitbart worked directly with neo-Nazi leaders to inject their hate into the public conversation. More than 4,000 companies have pulled their ads from Breitbart in protest of their racism and bigotry.
If Senator Collins accepts the donations from Breitbart she cannot decry the extreme left while padding her campaign coffer with donations from the extreme right. That's not moderate.
Senator Collins must prove that she works for Mainers and not the alt right with their extremist agenda of gutting our health care and giving tax breaks to billionaires and corporations.
So, Senator Collins, return or donate the money. Mainers are watching.
