We don’t stand by union busting, and neither should IMP's COO Donna Westmoreland. Remind her of the commitment she has made!

Donna Westmoreland, I.M.P. COO

After 6 weeks of waiting I.M.P. (The 9:30 club, The Anthem, Lincoln Theatre, and The Atlantis) has refused the box office and production's petition for a fair process to unionize. Tell Donna Westmoreland what you think by signing this petition to email her directly at donna@930.com

To Donna Westmoreland,

It’s clear you aren’t listening to the workers, so we are going to pass along the message on their behalf:

Our culture of respect and white glove service earned I.M.P. venues a historic, world-wide reputation as a desirable place for musicians and comedians to perform. For concertgoers, the box office workers answer questions and solve ticketing issues, such as problems caused by predatory ticket resale. For tours and artists, the production workers ensure each show is built safely and efficiently, reminding them of why DC is a hospitable, key stop on the concert circuit.
We, the full time production workers and box office workers, state clearly and explicitly our desire for a fair process to unionize and stand in solidarity with our colleagues, those represented by UNITE HERE, Local 25, bar tenders, door staff, hospitality staff, and kitchen staff.
Management has made it clear that they do not want to agree to this fair process, citing the changes that might come about as a result of their employees having a greater say over our work lives. They worry they will not be able to manipulate us on an individual basis. However, it is not too late! We still implore IMP to change their minds and recognize us voluntarily. It will preserve the reputation as a beloved DC institution that IMP management and workers have built together. Furthermore it will allow us to quickly settle at the table and not in the streets or hearing halls as IMP management has suggested.
We ask management to agree to a fair process to unionize like they did recently with our colleagues with Unite Here Local 25, following in the footsteps of fellow venues Arena Stage in Washington, DC and First Ave in Minneapolis, MN. We, the workers, made our venues the beloved institutions for countless people in Washington, D.C. and beyond. We deserve respect, stability, and a voice on the job.

Donna, you can always choose to change course and give the workers the fair process to unionize like the other staff. But in the meantime, we the patrons and lovers of the 9:30 club, the Lincoln Theater, The Anthem, and The Atlantis need to make one thing clear:

I.M.P. must agree to a stipulated election agreement setting an election on the earliest possible date. Employees must be able to vote in that election freely and fairly by allowing the workers to decide for themselves without threats or coercion from their employer.
