The presidential nominee of the Democratic Party must be chosen by the people, not unelected superdelegates in a brokered convention. Bernie Sanders is the only candidate with a platform that responds to the urgent needs of working people and the planet — and he's the only candidate with the movement necessary to defeat Trump and transform the United States into a country that puts people over profit.

Party insiders are openly planning to step in and overturn the will of the voters, an arrogant and out of touch move that would cause irreparable political damage and virtually ensure a Trump re-election. The Democratic Party establishment is funded by billionaires and corporations — so it’s no surprise that it is willing to throw away electoral success in order to maintain corporate control over the party and keep Bernie and his working-class movement out of power.

Because we understand the urgency of Bernie's transformational working-class agenda and the urgency of defeating Trump, we call on the Democratic National Committee, all superdelegates, and all presidential candidates to publicly pledge to support the nomination of Bernie Sanders should he receive the most delegates in the primary.

If party leaders do not promptly heed this petition, we are ready to organize and take to the streets to stop unelected elites from stealing our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win economic, racial, social, and environmental justice for the working-class majority. #WeDecide
