The election of a Republican Speaker of the House was a disaster.

Kevin McCarthy's failed "leadership" was pathetic. And the "Taliban Twenty" who made extortionate demands for their votes were even worse.

I hope the Republican Party rediscovers its core moral principles sometime soon.

But in the meantime, I am leaving the Republican Party and supporting this effort to persuade more disgusted Republicans to join me.
