Woking Aggregates Yard Relocation

Director of Planning WBC Giorgio Framalicco

The council is proposing to relocate the Day Aggregates access road from its existing location on the Guildford Road next to the Victoria Arch railway bridge, in Woking, Surrey, to a residential area. They are planning to complete this in two key stages.

1 - By creating a temporary access road, which could be utilised for 3-5 years according to the Councils Strategic planning officer (judging on the current building works this could be an even longer period) via Bradfield Close, just off York Road, Woking, Surrey.

2 - By creating a permanent access road via Waverly Court, just off York Road, which would require 30 family homes to be demolished, where many residents have lived for several years.

This petition is calling for the Day Aggregates Yard to be completely relocated to a more suitable area to minimise the environmental impact on the local residents and visitors to Woking Town centre.  To be completed before such time that additional access roads would be required.

Our concerns regarding this application include but are not limited to -

Increased noise and pollution

Access problems for emergency vehicles

Reduced parking facilities, for the residents, including services for the vulnerable and carers

Increased risk of road accidents, including damage to stationary vehicles, pets and local wildlife

This petition is designed to act as a voice for the local residents as a community, we will present this petition to the council at the next available opportunity.
