We, the Young Democratic Socialists of America and our allies, demand that the FIU Academic Health Center provide free Plan B, for everyone, on demand. Our access to healthcare and bodily autonomy are currently under threat. At this very moment, trans healthcare is being eliminated, abortion restrictions are being tightened, and healthcare companies are making billions of dollars in profits while refusing coverage to working-class people. Many of the working-class students at FIU struggle with everyday expenses, and the $20+ cost of Plan B compounds our financial hardships. Through costs like this, you continue to extract profits from your students, despite that Plan B is available in bulk for free or at a very low price. For this reason, we demand that FIU provides free Plan B (or generic alternatives) to all of the students who need it.

More specifically, we demand:

1) Free and accessible Plan B around campus, at locations including student health clinics, RA front desks, vending machines, and other strategic spots;

2) A navigable, accessible page of the FIU website devoted to providing information about Plan B, listing on-campus locations where free Plan B can be obtained, and providing instructions for scheduling free appointments with well-trained Student Health Center medical professionals who can answer contraceptive-related questions;

3) Paper materials synthesizing the information provided on the web page, to be placed at relevant spots on campus and provided at free Plan B distribution locations.
