Transgender youth deserve access to healthcare without politicians interfering in decisions that belong between patients, their families, and their providers.

Mount Sinai has agreed to stop providing gender-affirming care to minors following pressure from the Trump administration. Other major healthcare institutions have already reached similar agreements.

Hospitals have a responsibility to protect the people who trust them with their care. Transgender patients should not be abandoned because defending their healthcare becomes politically difficult.

We call on hospitals and healthcare systems across the country to stand with their transgender patients, protect access to care, and resist political pressure that interferes with the patient-provider relationship.
