Push Back Against Local Opposition to Key Pro-Homes Bills
Our movement is at a critical moment, and we need your voice. Local elected officials across suburban districts are organizing significant opposition to the Yes to Homes! agenda. They’ve convinced legislators this is a controversial topic when 80% of Minnesotan voters support changes. We must show up strong to push back and let state legislators know that their constituents care about providing enough homes in all our communities – and want state legislators to take action.
Depending on where you live, we have two key actions for you to take:
1️⃣ Speak at Your Next City Council Meeting – If you live in suburban districts, we’ll provide you with the details and talking points to speak about Yes to Homes! bills during the open comment period. Your presence and testimony can make a real difference.
2️⃣ Meet with Your City Council Member – If you live in Minneapolis or Saint Paul, we will first give you a resource to share with friends and family in suburban districts. Then, we’ll connect you with a team of N4MN volunteers or Sustain Saint Paul volunteers to meet with council members and advocate for our bills together.
Our policies are designed to address the fact that we are over 100,000 homes short in our state. These bills will make more homes possible in more places, improving affordability in our communities. But without strong support from leaders like you, local opposition could stall our progress.
