You are invited to the Climate Defiance New Years benefit.

We are so honored to be joined by Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Steven Donziger, and Cambridge City Councilor Sumbul Siddiqui.

We are a brand-new youth-led group and we are making people in power quake. The leading climate and clean energy trade publication E&E News wrote: "With its public displays of opposition, the activist group Climate Defiance is elevating environmental concerns with Biden to the political spotlight arguably unlike any other group in the ideologically varied tableau of U.S. environmental groups."

We do not go along to get along. We do not sit in cubicles circulating petitions and signing coalition letters. We block doors. We crash galas. We shut down speeches at think tanks and hotels and conferences and fundraisers and Congressional office buildings. We act like our very lives are on the line because they are.

Chelsea Handler said Climate Defiance is "the best new, nonpartisan group that goes after politicians on both sides in the U.S."

Steven Donziger said: "They do what is needed better than just about any group in the world. Climate Defiance has shown time and again the ability to execute effectively on the strategy of disruptive activism and to reach millions of people in the process."

Congressman Ro Khanna said about our group: "You have gotten the country's attention...People in Congress are talking about you. Senators are talking about you. The President is talking about you. And remember this, the future is with you.”

Michael Mann, Director of the Penn Center for Science, Sustainability and the Media, said: "Climate Defiance is doing critical work holding climate polluters and their enablers’ collective feet to the fire.  There’s no time to lose when it comes to getting off fossil fuels. Even those we might consider allies must be reminded of their obligations to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. That’s where Climate Defiance is playing such a key role."

Let's come together to celebrate all we have done and raise funds for the next stage of our peaceful uprising.

In our first nine months we have:

  • Shut down a luncheon honoring Exxon CEO Darren Woods.
  • Blockaded the main entrances to the White House Correspondents Dinner, alongside Justin Pearson and Justin Jones of the #TennesseeThree.
  • Converged on Biden's $25,000-per-plate fundraiser in NYC with Jane Fonda, where we kicked up a storm that was impossible to ignore.
  • Shut down a speech by Senator Joe Manchin.
  • Shown up at almost every think tank panel, policy conference, and keynote where top administration officials appear.
  • Taken over the Congressional Softball Game.
  • Crashed the world's largest gathering of central bankers in Jackson Hole, and shut down multiple speeches by Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

This is working. Here's how we know:

  • The New York Times has mentioned our group, in multiple articles.
  • We have been covered by hundreds of media outlets including ABC, SF Chronicle, Politico, Washington Post, Democracy Now.
  • We have reached over 50,000,000 impressions on Twitter, organically.
  • Deputy Interior Secretary Tommy Beaudreau (who signed Willow) resigned 15 days after we protested him.
  • Jody Freeman resigned from Conoco just weeks after we protested her.

People power is our secret sauce. But we also need some funds to make this all possible. Join us as we celebrate what we have done together and prepare for what's ahead.
