This banquet honors the 2026 MCDW JFK Scholarship winners and features keynote speaker Violet Edwards, a powerful communicator, who is currently serving on the Madison County Commission, having been first elected in 2020. She is the first Black woman ever to serve on the commission and has worked tirelessly both in her government position and as a volunteer on numerous boards to improve people's lives. She is currently running for Alabama State Auditor.
A social hour begins at 5:30 with a jazz guitarist and some appetizers with charcuterie boards. A dinner buffet will be served starting at 6:30. The two scholarship winners will read their essays, and Commissioner Violet Edwards will deliver her keynote address.

A portion of the event center rental supports the Kids to Love community of children living in foster care.
Any ticket sales in excess of MCDW's expenses will go into the JFK Scholarship Fund for future scholarship recipients.
