The fact is: An open bar and handing out business cards don't add up to the kind of genuine community our industry needs. In fact, too often it reinforces the very systems our movement is dedicated to dismantling.

This event is designed to help all of us embrace the awkward of meeting new people and find genuine connections who can turn into lifelong professional and personal support.

Here's the schedule for the night:

• 6:00pm Doors Open
• 6:30pm Speed Grouping -- You'll have 15 mins to huddle with 2-3 people you do NOT already know. We'll do 3 rounds of this.
• 7:30pm Open Network -- No more structure. Now it's up to you to keep a convo going or go start new ones. Or just refill your plate!
• 8:00pm Play Semisonic's "Closing Time" -- You don't have to go home, you just can't stay in our space at Méli. But you can stick around at the bar and enjoy their half-off wine tasting!

A few ground rules for this event:

• You must be vaccinated against COVID-19 (including boosters!).
• This event is the start not the end -- Commit to getting together with at least 1 new person you meet at this event within the next month.
• No business cards required -- We're not formal here. Pull out your phone and send that first email, text, or DM to get your conversation going immediately.
• We'll have lots of food + drink -- Your ticket helps defray some of the cost. The rest is covered by our generous sponsor, Action Network.
