A one day exploration into printing with recycled materials
The workshop is run by Christine Felce, a talented local artist and printmaker who creates public art installations and provides courses in several disciplines of printmaking
beautiful prints. You will be shown hand printing techniques and will also have the use of an etching press.
During the course we will explore the mark making potential from the plastic boxes and cartons we
all have. You will be shown how to cut and draw into tetra pack containers and print amazing
colourful plates using the etching presses, etching needles and simple tools to create detailed fine
lines and textures.
The tetra pack plates that you make can also print into fine cotton fabric that can become a basis for
sewing into your material after the course. We will be using oil based water washable etching inks
Bring fine cotton if you would like to try printing onto fabric.
Bring an
apron, or wear clothes that you don't mind getting ink on!
There is free tea and coffee
