Train-the-Trainer for Reversing Runaway Inequality

Start: Sunday, September 10, 2017 9:00 AM

End: Sunday, September 10, 2017 4:00 PM

Reversing Runaway Inequality is a powerful workshop. Over the course of a day, participants dig deep into the facts about runaway inequality, its causes, and how it impacts nearly every problem they care about, from worker rights to the environment to our mammoth prison population.

Small Group Activity Method

The workshop is divided up into a series of tasks for participants to complete in small groups. Participants spend most of their time talking with one another, working through information and bringing in their own knowledge and experiences. Trainers don’t need to be an expert in the subject matter, though they do need to become familiar enough with the material to facilitate discussions.

You can download the workshop curriculum and overview of the Small Group Activity Method at the Reversing Runaway Inequality resource page.

Becoming a Trainer

These workshops are one way to keep spreading the word about runaway inequality. Sometimes the harder piece of being a trainer is finding opportunities to actually train people, so consider what’s realistic for you. Can you recruit 20-25 people to attend an 8-hour workshop? Once? Two or more times in the next six months? What about a 4-hour version of the workshop?
