Alameda County established its own CCE program East Bay Community Energy in January 2017, and started its operation for businesses in June and residents in November in unincorporated Alameda county and 11 cities except Newark and Pleasanton. Today municipal accounts of all these cities are Carbon free without any increase of the cost.
With EBCE, you can choose three different power mixes, Bright Choice, Brilliant 100, and Renewable 100 as shown below. With the same price you are paying today you can be carbon free with Brilliant 100!EBCE is one of the Community Choice Energy programs implemented in Bay Area and its goal is to provide cleaner, greener energy at lower rates to its customers. Our volunteers served as steering committee members to ensure it will help fight climate crisis and have local development business plan which includes a description of how EBCE can contribute to fostering local economic benefits, such as job creation and community energy programs.
