'Nothing Scarier Than Climate Change' Bend Action Week

‘Nothing Scarier Than Climate Change’ Action Week is right around the corner! In collaboration with Deschutes Youth Climate Coalition, Energize Bend!, and Oregon Sierra Club, there is going to be a variety of different events to attend - from going door to door canvassing for electrification policy in Bend to sitting in on a very important Bend City Council worktime meeting. Bend City Council has a big opportunity to make major strides towards our climate goals, so we have a big responsibility to make our voices heard and ensure a safe, clean future for all!

Sunday, October 19th - Action Night and Art Build

Time: 4pm - 7pm

Location: Open Space, 220 NE Lafayette Ave, Bend, OR 97701

Description: Create signs and other visuals for the protest, learn about Energize Bend and the policy we’re pushing for, training for people interested in canvassing, snacks provided! Drop in whenever!

Monday, October 20th - Haunt the Block Canvassing

Time: 4:30pm - 6pm

Location: Compass Park (2500 NW Crossing Dr, Bend, OR 97703)

Description: Go door to door spreading electrification information and action items. A trick or treat for a clean future if you will! Attendance at the action night is required to canvass

Wednesday, October 22th - Nothing is Scarier than Climate Change Protest & Sit In

Time: Protest @ 2:30pm - 3:45pm. Sit-in @ 4pm - 5:30pm

Location: Peace Corner & City Hall

Description: Protest, march through downtown, sit in on council work time to hear their decision on electrification
