Celina Villanueva, a UWF State Senator, has a 'blue lives matter' challenger in the general election of the 11th Senatorial District. Mary Ellen Brown is a reactionary of the movement for Black lives and is in favor of a militarized police force that criminalizes poverty and murders Black and Brown people. In addition, she is publicly opposed to the Fair Tax, one of the most important issues that Illinois voters will be weighing in on in this election. In a recent Suntimes article she said, "We have to stop pushing the wealthy residents around and find ways to create income for the State."
