Triangle DSA May Marxism 101 Intensive
Join Triangle DSA for our introduction to Marxism! We will be covering the whole series virtually over three Sundays in May, 12:00 - 3:00 pm: May 10, May 17, May 31.

This curriculum will provide all chapter members a baseline understanding of Marxism. We’ll cover the basics of Marxist political economy and praxis. The purpose of the curriculum is to enable all our members to begin to feel comfortable engaging in robust and informed political dialogue with their comrades in DSA as we work together to build the working class movement that will achieve socialism.
Session 1 covers the basics of Marxist political economy, including the Labor Theory of Value and Marx's theory of class, profit, and exploitation.
- This session covers the material we usually cover in the first three sessions of the course.
Session 2 covers Lenin’s extension of Marxism to the era of imperialism and proletarian revolution. It takes up Lenin’s theory of imperialism, the Marxist theory of the state, and the task of the revolutionary proletariat.
- This session covers the material we usually cover in the fourth and fifth sessions of the course.
Session 3 covers the topic of putting theory into praxis. We discuss the theory-praxis dialectic and constructive, comradely criticism.
- This session covers the material we usually cover in the final session of the course, plus our Comradely Disagreement and Constructive Criticism skill training.
