Aberdeen Stop Rosebank Day of Action
Start: Saturday, September 06, 2025•12:30 PM
Location:North Sea Transition Authority•1 Marischal Square, Broad Street, Aberdeen, AB10 1BL GB
Any day now, the UK government will face a major climate test. Equinor is expected to reapply to develop Rosebank: the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK.
Come and join us at 12:30 on Saturday 6th September for a demo and stall outside the North Sea Transition Authority to show our opposition to this climate-wrecking field.
Rosebank is a climate disaster that we can still stop. Together, we already overturned the last government’s approval in the courts and helped to bring in new government rules that make it harder to push it through.
Now it’s up to this government to make the right call.
In just a few weeks, we could see the UK government make the decision to reject Rosebank, or they could decide to double down on fossil fuels, at everyone’s expense. Approving Rosebank would benefit Equinor and Ithaca, not the people of Aberdeen. The oil industry will stop at nothing to get Rosebank over the line - we can't let it happen.
Join us to demand that the UK Government rejects Equinor's application for this climate-wrecking new oil field. Let's STOP ROSEBANK!
There will also be a "museum of greenwashing" held at the ATUC for Doors Open Day, from 10:00-16:00.
