Alabama Prison Strike Solidarity Action - Saturday, March 23, 2024
Start: Saturday, March 23, 2024•12:00 PM
End: Saturday, March 23, 2024•01:00 PM
As part of the Free Alabama Movement, incarcerated people in Alabama's prisons have organized a minimum 90-day prison shutdown to stop gas chamber-style executions, illegal organ harvesting, and brutal abuse when they refuse to engage in forced labor.
The incarcerated organizers' main ask from supporters is this: to provide outside solidarity support and a morale boost as they fight back against some of the most heinous repression in the country.
Tennessee Student Solidarity Network has been traveling from Tennessee multiple weekends in a row to provide this solidarity support. To help give these organizers a week off and build this mass movement in Alabama, we're looking to show up outside of a to-be-determined Birmingham-area correctional facility on March 23rd starting at 12PM, holding signs and shouting chants of solidarity while we livestream for the incarcerated people inside.
Want to join us on the 23rd? Fill out the form to the right, and an organizer will be in touch with you soon.
