MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) is permanently closing postpartum unit 5F, eliminating 11 vital maternal health beds by July 26, 2026. 1 out of every 3 babies in DC is delivered at MWHC and this reckless decisions by hospital management will only further exacerbate our city's maternal health crisis.

Frontline staff are outraged at hospital management, and Metro DC DSA is standing with National Nurses United, other workers at MWHC, and the community to protest these cuts to critical health services.
