Must we change? Can we change? Will we change?  Not a day goes by that you don't hear a new report about the dire situation we are facing due to climate change. Contrary to some beliefs, scientists have been researching and studying this problem for over 100 years and have come to a near-unanimous consensus that the burning of fossil fuels is the major contributor. While urgency for action is needed, the good news is there is plenty of hope and opportunity.

Join Climate Reality Leader, Paula Clements who was trained by Vice President Al Gore, to mobilize communities for action. The slideshow presentation will depict the urgency for climate action, but is really a message of hope. Hand-wringing is a thing of the past; solutions to the crisis are known and actions are being taken. Come learn what you can do to be a part of the solution and help create a future we can all live with!

Paula's Background: "I was raised in CO and am an Army veteran. I am involved in Fairfax County as a longtime election officer, Field Operations supervisor for both the 2000 and 2010 Census and am very active in CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) program where I have trained in everything from animal (and human) first aid and CPR to Wide area rescue. I am a textile artist, currently working in felt and enjoys refurbishing old furniture which had been destined for the junk yard. I trained in March 2017, with former Vice President Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader and am currently serving as the Chair of the Northern Virginia Chapter of The Climate Reality Project."
