DACA Sign Wave with Our revolution Hawaii

If you were arrested for nonsense, would you want fellow citizens raising hell about it?

On Friday, 7 DACA recipients were arrested in Congressional offices and have been in custody since Friday night. They are calling on all of us to host solidarity vigils on Saturday and Sunday to uplift their stories and their demand for a clean Dream Act. Every day the Dream Act does not pass, undocumented youth are at risk of detention and deportation. Thousands have already lost their work permits, jobs, and sense of safety. We need as many people as possible to show their support and vigils are a great way to mobilize a lot of people to show this broad public support.

Please join us at the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Avenue from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

Several of will be in-between events, which is why it's only a 30 minute sign wave.   OR Hawaii + The Progressive Movement of Hawaii committee on Candidate Endorsement Criteria have a meeting across the street at 4:00 pm in the Honolulu Coffee Shop.  Conveniently, if you arrive early and buy a cup of coffee, you can park in their parking lot while sign waving.

We will stand on the corner fronting Honolulu Coffee Shop, across the street from the Hawaii Convention Center and Sign Wave for DACA from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm

Feel free to arrive early and stay late!

Use card board and markers to make a sign letting people know that DACA members do not need to be arrested, they need to have their former status restored so they can resume lawful, productive lives, without USSR style punishment.

We need to elevate their stories and demand permanent protection!

DACA History:

Undocumented youth won DACA by risking freedom through direct action. Undocumented youth are currently holding a jail strike and risking so much to make clear the urgency of this crisis and show the American people and political leaders what will happen to us if the Dream Act doesn’t pass before the end of the year.

We can win this – IF hundreds of us sit-in and take over the offices of Representatives and Senators across the country to demand they make a choice: stand with Dreamers or stand by as 800,000 young immigrants are deported.

Whoever and wherever you are, you can play a crucial role. Don't worry if you aren't willing to risk arrest we will need to fill crucial support roles! We will support you every step of the way. Once you RSVP you will receive the information to connect with the team and a guide to help you prepare for the action.

Join us in demanding Schatz, Hanabusa, and Hirono join Tulsi in working hard to convince their colleagues to vote no on a spending bill that does not include a CLEAN DREAM
