Instructions From Your Host

Thank you for joining us in Albany on Wednesday, March 25th for an Emergency Rally to Defend the Climate, which Governor Hochul is attempting to gut in the state budget, which is due for enactment on April 1st.

We will gather inside the State's Legislative Office Building on the 3rd floor. Please arrive by 11:30 and leave time to enter through metal detectors; expect to wait about 15 minutes to get through the metal detectors. We expect to be concluded around 2:30pm.

The 3rd floor inside the Legislative Office Building, where we will gather, overlooks an interior atrium, inside the building. There are internal terraces overlooking the Legislative Office Building's main floor. We will start the day on those terraces on the 3rd floor of the Legislative Office Building. We will rally there and then march down to the main floor then through the building inside and then underground into the State Capitol building, where we will also march and rally.

This will be LOUD - we're going to be highly visible throughout the complex as we march around inside. We expect several hundred protesters. It will be highly visible and noticeable to Legislators, plus their staff and the Governor's staff, as well as the media.

Together, we will demand that the State Legislature stop Hochul's attack on the state's climate law. Instead, she should accelerate the transition to renewable energy and, in so doing, lower our energy bills, create good jobs, and slash pollution.

Trump is on a trajectory toward authoritarian rule while rapidly bringing us to the brink of climate disaster, but instead of standing up to him, Hochul is adopting his agenda on climate. She wants to amend the climate law because a court is ordering her to follow its requirements, which she has been ignoring. We cannot let that happen. If the Legislature lets the Governor get her way, New Yorkers will get even higher energy bills, good jobs will be destroyed, and pollution will greatly increase.
