The Santa Cruz Climate Justice Crew gathers on the fourth Friday of the month for actions in front of Chase Bank - the largest funder of fossil fuel projects. This month our action is on Dec 24th (Christmas Eve), so after we gather at the corner of Ocean St & Water St with signs and banners, we'll go caroling for climate justice.

Why
Over the past year, major banks RBC and Chase and private equity giant KKR have ignored countless requests to meet with communities impacted by the fossil fuel projects that the company is funding. These companies are bankrolling Wet’suwet’en people being removed at gunpoint from their land.

We refuse to let these pipeline financiers get away with it. December 20th Indigenous land defenders are calling for a week of action calling out the corporate giants behind Coastal GasLink.

Our action on Dec 24th is in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en land defenders.

How

We will have some signs and banners - feel free to bring your own.

We've got caroling booklets with revised lyrics to many popular holiday tunes (and some Santa hats, if want one and you don't have your own). We'll sing to bank customers at Chase Bank, then probably go to Pacific Avenue to sing to passers-by downtown.
