Join us for the Duke Street Land Use Plan's second community meeting, where staff will announce and facilitate discussion around the Draft Guiding Principles for the plan. This meeting is a critical opportunity to shape the future of Duke Street as an affordable, vibrant heart of Alexandria.

Food, childcare, and Spanish interpretation will be provided.

6:30 p.m.: Presentation and Q&A (also online via Zoom).

7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.: Facilitated Discussion on Draft Guiding Principles

Getting there:
Bishop Ireton is accessible by bus, bike, and car. Enter the cafeteria through Door 15, off the lower parking lot.

Bus: All of the Duke Street buses stop nearby. All of these lines can be taken from King St Metro Station, and all but the F20 are available along all of Duke Street.
-DASH 30 (free): Get off at Duke St & Cambridge Road/Roth St. Walk 0.1 miles uphill to the school.
-WMATA F20, F23, & F24: Get off at Alexandria Commons. Walk east down Duke Street, left on Cameron Rd and up the hill (0.4 miles).

Bike: All routes require on-street riding.
- Northern option: from Janney's Lane (bike lanes), turn onto Cambridge Rd (quiet street) and ride down the hill
- Southern option: from Holmes Run Trail pass through Tarleton Park and connect to S Gordon (sharrows). Take S Gordon to Wheeler (painted lanes and sharrows), turn left, and ride past the police station. Turn down the drive to the Alexandria fleet services building, through their lot and follow the left fork up the hill, connecting to S Quaker Lane (quiet street). Turn left on S Quaker, right on Colvin (quiet street), and left on Roth (quiet street). Cross Duke street at the Roth Street light, turn left on Cameron Rd and ride up the hill to the lower lot.


Car: There's a big, free parking lot. Park in the lower lot.
