HOPE-PV: Harnessing Our Power to End Political Violence

An online training for rural and small town organizers in northern Minnesota
Monday, June 30th, 12PM - 2PM

Whether it's the assassination of political leaders, or threats to demonstrators on small town street corners, the goal of political violence is always to divide us, scare us, and silence us. In our rural communities, many of us have experienced intimidation, threats, or even physical violence by those who oppose our political views, beliefs, identities or values.

One of the best things we can do in the face of political violence is to organize!

This free online training will introduce activists and organizers from northern Minnesota to the HOPE-PV project, equipping us with some tools and strategies to counter political violence in our small towns and rural communities.

This training aims to empower individuals and strengthen communities to make political violence backfire against those who incite, threaten, and enact it. While this training is open to everyone, we are tailoring some of the content to small towns and rural communities in northern Minnesota. Our hope is that in addition to sharing tools and strategies with other organizers, we can also encourage connection across our region.

This training is co-hosted by the Good Trouble Club - Aitkin County, RuralOrganizing, and HOPE-PV project - and will be led by experienced HOPE-PV training facilitators.
