Good Trouble Club - Aitkin County

Aitkin, MN

Good Trouble Club (Aitkin County) is a friendly group of like-minded neighbors from small communities in our rural Minnesota region. We are potluck people who believe in the power of rural folks rallying to take care of one another in troubled times, and to share the responsibilities of caring for society.

We're also united in our belief that American democracy - while far from perfect - is worth rallying for, and that our democracy is in peril. We also share a belief that rural resistance is a powerful force, even in so-called "Trump Country" - rural resistance is alive, and it is important to a healthy democracy!

We're committed to encouraging each other and our neighbors to stand up, speak out, and organize together to resist fascism - with care and compassion for ALL people - especially the most vulnerable.

We care about our rural communities - our elders, children and working-class families - our military vets, educators, laborers, healthcare providers and civil servants - about upholding our constitutional rights, as well as human rights, treaty rights and our shared responsibilities - community health and the health of our natural environment.

We are advocates of "good trouble," in the words of civil rights leader John Lewis. We stand against repression, racism, tyranny, bullying and political violence.

We gather as neighbors and friends to demonstrate our values and exercise our rights to free speech and dissent in our small towns and rural communities.

Our motto is: Be Good Trouble.

No bosses, no bullies, no bullsh*t.

Good Trouble Club is not affiliated with any political groups or coalitions, but we welcome collaboration and connection with other groups who share our values! goodtroubleaitkincounty@gmail.com
