Diversity. Inclusivity. Cultural Competency. Equity. Affirmative Action. These words routinely show up in job descriptions, "About" webpages, grant proposals, and value statements. However, far too often, these words represent a PR campaign or a throwaway gesture much more so than a true commitment to organizational anti-oppression.
We need to do better. We need to be working harder, to make sure our organizations are truly committed to creating inclusive, anti-oppressive work environments, work products, and relationships. We need to ensure it is not just the targeted and the marginalized bringing this issues to the forefront.
At this training, attendees can expect to learn how oppression works institutionally on an internal and external level, and what strategies they and their organizations can use to truly implement anti-oppression in their spaces.
This training is welcome to all, but content will be targeted towards non-marginalized identities such as white, straight, and cis, so those groups can learn how they can better support marginalized groups within their institutions.
This is the registration page for those unable to purchase tickets. If you can purchase tickets, please do so here.
