This is a virtual event

The Djab Wurrung Embassy needs you to rise up right now to be a protector of Djab Wurrung country for the sake of culture and sovereignty.

Two weeks ago the cut that brought down the Directions Tree on Djab Wurrung Country was felt across Victoria. The Victorian Government practiced its colonial law and continued its erasure of the Djab Wurrung dreaming landscape, a hurt that as allies we can only begin to imagine.

We have a crucial opportunity to change the course of this fight. An injuction has stopped work till Nov 19th and the borrowed time lets you and us get proper organised.

The Djab Wurrung Heritage Protection Embassy is calling all its allies to come and be guided in the protection of the sacred landspace that holds so much culture and story. Come along to an online info session, hosted by a network of Djab Wurrung Embassy allies, to find out more and connect with fellow protectors.

You will hear about why it is crucial to head to Djab Wurrung right now; the risks associated, and what you can do to stay safe; the logistics of getting to camp; and have a space to work through barriers.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly about any specific needs you may have to make sure we can cater for you.

If you are ready to level up your protection preparation, these are your next steps:

  1. If you need no more information, feel comfortable with nonviolent direct action and know where you’re going, stop reading now and get on country! Check-in is across the Western Highway from top camp, at the railway crossing on Warrayatkin Rd.

  2. Check out the Djab Wurrung Festival of Resistance that is happening this weekend and share around to your mates bit.ly/dwresistance
  3. Camp has asked that everyone puts in some work getting up to date with your understanding of nonviolent direct action. There is a training online on Thursday, find out more here

This training is happening on the unceded land of the Kulin Nation and we acknowledge the amazing resistance work of Indigenous activists and their ongoing efforts to protect Country.
