The Blockade IMARC alliance aims to shut down, subvert and disrupt the IMARC conference. We do this in order to hold the mining and other extractive industries to account for their role in the theft of land and dispossession of First Nations peoples and communities across the globe and the harm they cause to humans, animals, and ecosystems. We will do this by:

Exercising collective power in shutting down the conference, demonstrating that it is only when ordinary people directly confront the forces of capitalism, colonialism and extractivism and build alternatives that real change is made.

Educating in a clear and accessible way what extractivism is, how it relates to capitalism and colonisation, where it comes from and why and how we can stop it, and moving beyond extractivism.

Raising awareness and support for anti-extractivism and post-extractivism struggles and campaigns, and drawing attention to the crimes of the international mining industry.
