Line 3, Line 5, and Beyond
Start: Thursday, June 08, 2023•06:00 PM
End: Thursday, June 08, 2023•08:30 PM
Join us for an evening of connection and collaboration as we work towards our shared goal of shutting down fossil fuel pipelines in Minnesota. This event will provide an opportunity for activists from across the state to come together, share ideas, and build connections that will help us achieve our collective vision.
The event will take place on June 8th, starting at 6PM at Jaycees Shelter in Roseville's Central Park. We will be grilling food (both vegan and meat based) and providing side dishes and ice cream. Please please RSVP here so we know how much food to get! The event will be family friendly with a playground and an art activity for kids. It starts at 6:00 pm until dark.
This is part of a nationwide week of action to call on President Biden to take bold climate action and stop the sacrifice of frontline, Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities to the greed of Big Oil & Gas.
We would love to connect with everyone who signed a petition, made a phone call, came out for a Line 3 protest or otherwise was involved in the movement against the Line 3 pipeline. We would also love to connect with people who are curious about what is happening now with pipelines both here and in our neighboring Great Lakes states.
Throughout the evening, there will be time for networking, socializing, and building connections with neighbors who share your passion for protecting our environment and communities from the harmful impacts of fossil fuels. Whether you're a seasoned organizer or new to the movement, this event is the perfect opportunity to get involved, connect with like-minded individuals, and make a difference in the fight against fossil fuel pipelines.
Getting There: The Jaycees Shelter at Central Park in Roseville is easy to access off of Lexington Ave by car or bike. It is on the west side of the lake. If you're driving, try parking in the main lot at 2540 Lexington, which is very near the shelter. If that lot is full, there's secondary parking at 2495 Victoria St. N, and from there take the walking path around the lake about 1/4 mile to Jaycees Shelter. Parking also available on side streets and City Hall. Via transit, the park is a 20 minute walk north from Metro Transit’s 65 and 83 buses at County Road B and Lexington Ave or a half hour walk from the A Line at Rosedale Transit Center (or a few minutes on a bike in either case if you bike+bus).
