On Mon. June 1st from 5 to 6 pm, YOU can hit the streets with fellow Staten Islanders to demand that Rep. Nicole Malliotakis vote against a new bill to give LOTS MORE money to ICE and border protection. That vote is happening very soon!

We'll also be demanding that she work instead to restore HUGE health care spending cuts that she voted for as part of Donald Trump's #OneBigUgly bill -- it stole a whopping $1 trillion from Medicaid and safety net hospitals in order to giveaway HUGE tax cuts to billionaires, big corporations, and special interests. Tens of millions of lower income people will now lose their health insurance, and hospitals will become financially strained and some will close.

THIS SPRING congressional Republican majorities --including Rep. Malliotakis-- are planning to throw EVEN MORE MONEY at ICE and border protection -- another $72 billion! This new funding comes on top of last year's increase of nearly $200 billion that tripled their annual operating budgets. ICE already has way more than enough money and doesn't need any more.

ICE is using all this new money to build and operate gigantic concentration camps across the US to imprison immigrant detainees for deportation -- the vast majority of them have been illegally arrested as part of Trump's war on new Americans. These new camps will be contracted out to for-profit prison corporations with political connections to Donald Trump -- Trump's new nominee to run ICE is an industry executive.

This past winter, two citizens were deliberately shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis. Since Trump returned to office in 2025, nearly 60 people have died while n ICE custody, and many others have been seriously injured during street protests and illegally arrested. Inside these camps, health care is horrible to non-existent.
