New York Wants Public Renewables NOW!

Start: Wednesday, July 27, 202212:00 PM

New Yorkers are ready to lead the way to repairing our climate, and building a future we’d be proud to pass on to the next generation. Instead, we’re held hostage by fossil fuel-funded climate deniers who let our energy bills skyrocket, and our futures burn away.

When Albany blocked every climate bill last year, we made a plan to fight back. And we need YOU to join us for a mass rally and press conference on Wednesday, July 27 at noon at the legislature’s door of 250 Broadway to tell them New York Wants Public Renewables NOW!

Our movement grew so fast, we built the momentum and popular support to push the Build Public Renewables Act (BPRA) through the Senate. We forced opposing legislators to switch sides out of fear of being primaried. And we scared Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, the Mitch McConnell of New York, into calling an unprecedented public hearing next Thursday, July 28th, on our bill after he failed to bring it to a vote.

We’re calling a rally of our own to demand that Carl Heastie hold a special session immediately following the hearing to pass the Build Public Renewables act, as is. Join us 12pm Wednesday, July 27th at Heastie’s office, 250 Broadway, to show him and the other fossil-fueled backed Democrats that we mean business.

We face a total abdication of federal leadership, New York needs to step up or we drown.

It’s time to #BuildPublicRenewables.
