Healthcare is often deeply personal, but research shows that nurses’ patient loads per shift affect entire communities in terms of mortality, readmission, workplace safety, and employee retention. This subject is especially important in Maine as the Legislature considers the Maine Quality Care Act* Join us as Dr. Lasater presents her research and considers the views of proponents and opponents of regulating nurse-to-patient ratios. Additionally, nurses from Maine and beyond will share their experineces of staffing levels and their impacts on Maine communities. The presentations will be followed by a public discussion
